Chemical Peels 101 — The Perfect Peel vs. Active Peel: What's the Difference?

Chemical Peels — A Powerful Tool for Skin Rejuvenation

Chemical peels have been used for decades to improve skin tone, texture, and clarity. By applying a carefully formulated solution to the skin, peels help remove damaged outer layers, stimulate cell turnover, and reveal fresher, smoother skin beneath.

At Slender Me Medical, we offer two professional peel options — The Perfect Peel and the iS Clinical Active Peel System — each designed for different skin concerns and levels of treatment intensity. Here's how they compare.

The Perfect Peel — A Medical-Grade Deep Peel

The Perfect Peel is a powerful medical-grade chemical peel suitable for all skin types and ethnicities. It's formulated with a unique blend of TCA, Kojic Acid, Retinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, Vitamin C, and Glutathione — a combination that addresses some of the most stubborn skin concerns.

Best for: Sun spots and age spots, acne scars and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, dull or aging complexion, uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines and mild wrinkles.

What to expect: The peel is applied in-office and left on for 6 hours. Peeling typically begins around day 3 and continues for 7–10 days. Downtime should be expected during the peeling phase, so plan accordingly. Results are dramatic and long-lasting.

Pricing: $330 per session

The iS Clinical Active Peel System — A Gentle, Resurfacing Peel

The iS Clinical Active Peel System is a clinically advanced, botanically based two-step treatment designed to resurface and polish the skin while providing hydration, rejuvenation, and antioxidant protection. It's offered at Slender Me Medical as part of our Skin Cleansing Facial with Active Peel — a 1-hour treatment that combines professional cleansing with this gentle yet effective peel.

Best for: Patients who want to improve skin tone, texture, and radiance with minimal downtime. Great for first-time peel patients or those with sensitive skin who want a gentler introduction to chemical exfoliation.

What to expect: A cool tingling sensation during application. Minimal to no visible peeling. Skin appears smoother, more radiant, and hydrated immediately after treatment.

Pricing: $150 per session (includes professional facial cleansing)

Which Peel Is Right for You?

Choose The Perfect Peel if you have stubborn pigmentation, acne scars, or significant signs of aging and are comfortable with 7–10 days of visible peeling and downtime. Choose the Active Peel System if you want a gentler resurfacing treatment with no significant downtime, or if you're new to chemical peels.

Both peels can be incorporated into a regular skin care routine for ongoing maintenance and improvement. Our team can help you determine which option is best suited to your skin type and goals.
